Everything you need is in your "Your RingAbroad eSIM is ready" email —
the QR code, your activation codes, and a "View your eSIM" link that reopens
your install page anytime.
Install on iPhone / iPad
Fastest: open your eSIM email on the iPhone itself and tap the "Install on iPhone" button — one tap, no QR code needed.
Or go to Settings → Cellular (Mobile Data) → Add eSIM → Use QR Code, and scan the QR code shown on another screen.
If the QR code is saved in your Photos, choose "Open Photos" instead of scanning.
When asked, give the eSIM a label — "Travel Data" works well.
On arrival in your destination: turn the eSIM on and enable Data Roaming for it.
Install on Android
First, save or screenshot the QR code from your email.
Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM.
Choose "Scan from photo" and pick the saved image — this is the most reliable method. (Scanning the QR from another screen also works.)
If your phone asks you to type a code, paste the full Activation Code from your email — the long one starting with LPA:1$ — and make sure no extra spaces are copied.
On arrival in your destination: turn the eSIM on and enable Data Roaming for it.
Menu names vary slightly by brand — on Samsung it's
Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
Common questions
My phone shows the eSIM as "Connect" or another name I don't recognise
That's completely normal. Your eSIM may appear under a different name, such as "Connect" or a local operator, depending on the destination. It's still your RingAbroad eSIM.
I got "Can't set up eSIM" when entering the code manually
This is almost always a typo or an invisible space picked up when copying. The fix: use the QR code instead — save it to your photos and use "Scan from photo". If you must type, use the full LPA:1$... code exactly as shown in your email.
I installed it but there's no data
Three checks: (1) you're in the destination country the eSIM covers, (2) the eSIM is turned on in Settings, and (3) Data Roaming is enabled for the eSIM. All three are needed.
Should I install before I travel?
Yes — install on Wi-Fi before you leave. The data plan only starts when you arrive and connect in the destination, so installing early costs you nothing.
I lost the email
Search your inbox (and spam) for "Your RingAbroad eSIM is ready". The "View your eSIM" link in it reopens your install page with the QR code and codes anytime.
Can I delete the eSIM and reinstall it later?
No — once installed, do not delete the eSIM. A deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled, even with the same QR code. If something looks wrong, leave it in place and contact support first — we can almost always fix it without a reinstall.
Will the eSIM work on any phone?
Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Most phones from 2019 onwards support eSIM (iPhone XS/XR or newer, most Samsung S/Note/Z and Google Pixel models), but a phone locked to a network will not accept a travel eSIM — ask your carrier to unlock it first.
Can I top up without reinstalling?
Yes. Open your install page via the email link and choose "Top up this eSIM" — extra data is added to the same eSIM. No new installation needed.
